Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, is set in the volcanic desert hills above San José del Cabo in Los Cabos, Baja California — one of only six Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties in the world. The resort sits above the meeting point of the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of California, in the extraordinary ecosystem that Jacques Cousteau famously described as the aquarium of the world. The Private Pool Villa blends Mexican architectural heritage and artisan craftsmanship with contemporary desert design — volcanic stone, hand-painted ceramics, and custom furniture created by Mexican artisans across the country.
Sensei at Zadún is the resort's signature wellness programme — an evidence-led wellness brand developed in partnership with Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison, combining spa treatments with one-on-one consultations in fitness, nutrition, meditation, sleep, and mindset. The Sensei philosophy of Move, Nourish, and Rest provides a comprehensive framework for each guest's wellness engagement during their stay. The Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club offers 27 championship holes designed by Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus, carved into the desert hills above the Sea of Cortés.
HUMO is the resort's most atmospheric restaurant — an intimate fire-driven dining experience where ancestral cooking techniques, wood smoke, and the flavours of the Baja California culinary heritage come together above the Sea of Cortés. El Barrio brings the warmth of a vibrant Mexican home to the table with colourful plates and live mariachi events. The Ambassadors of the Environment programme — a Jean-Michel Cousteau initiative — takes guests into the Baja desert and the Sea of Cortés for conservation and exploration experiences.
The Private Pool Villa at Zadún covers 3,500 to 6,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor desert living space — a private pool, multiple terrace areas, and the volcanic stone architecture that defines the Baja California desert aesthetic. Mexican artisan craftsmanship is embedded throughout: hand-painted Talavera ceramics, carved wood, and bespoke furniture pieces sourced during the design team's travels across Mexico. The pool terrace faces the Sea of Cortés and the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains, providing the dramatic desert-ocean panorama that defines Los Cabos.
Each villa includes a dedicated Embajador butler who arranges all experiences, dining reservations, and daily preferences throughout the stay. The Sensei Wellness program, HUMO restaurant, El Barrio, and all resort amenities are accessible from the villa. A private chef experience can be arranged through the Embajador — a custom menu prepared in the villa kitchen with locally sourced Baja California ingredients.
HUMO is Zadún's most celebrated restaurant — an intimate fire-driven dining experience where ancestral Mexican cooking techniques meet the contemporary gastronomic language of Baja California. Each dish at HUMO is built around the custom wood-burning hearth at the restaurant's centre, using ingredients sourced from local Baja California producers: prime aged beef, local seafood from the Sea of Cortés, desert herbs and wild botanicals, and the volcanic mineral character of the Baja terroir. The setting is dramatic — a carved desert architecture restaurant above the Pacific coast.
El Barrio is the resort's most vibrant gathering place — a colourful Mexican home brought to the table with the warmth of family cooking, live mariachi on Wednesday evenings, and a Sunday tequila and tacos fiesta. X (Equis) serves coastal Mexican ceviche, fresh Sea of Cortés seafood, and crafted cocktails at the casual beachside venue. The Candil Agave Bar specialises in handcrafted agave-based cocktails beneath a luminous illuminated sky. The Sensei Dining Beyond programme creates private dining experiences at cliff-edge settings above the Sea of Cortés.

Jacques Cousteau called this sea the aquarium of the world. Sensei was created with the most advanced wellness research available. HUMO cooks with fire using techniques that predate Spanish colonisation of Mexico. Greg Norman and Jack Nicklaus designed the golf courses. The agave bar is underneath a luminous sky.
