North Island, Seychelles · Beachfront Villa · All-Inclusive Private Island
One of the world's most exclusive private island resorts — just 11 handcrafted villas on 201 hectares of wild Seychelles island, 30km north of Mahé. The pioneer of barefoot luxury since 2003. Entirely all-inclusive including meals, beverages, diving, all activities, and your own Island Buggy. The highest density of nesting Green Sea Turtles in the inner Seychelles. The honeymoon island of William and Catherine. Part of the Relais & Châteaux collection.
North Island is a 201-hectare granitic island in the inner Seychelles archipelago, 30 kilometres north of Mahé. It opened as a resort in 2003 after a comprehensive rehabilitation programme — the Noah's Ark Programme — that reversed two centuries of environmental degradation from the island's coconut plantation era. The 11 handcrafted villas were built from materials reclaimed during the rehabilitation: Takamaka tree, sustainably sourced Rosewood, and Ylang-ylang elements from the island itself. The signature architectural language is called "barefoot luxury" — sophisticated artisan design that brings guests into direct sensory contact with the natural environment.
North Island holds the record for the highest density of nesting Green Sea Turtles of the inner granitic Seychelles islands. The island is home to more than 130 Aldabra giant tortoises, including Brutus, believed to be at least 200 years old and weighing approximately 200kg. The Seychelles White-Eye — a critically endangered bird species — was successfully relocated to the island in 2007 and now has a population of over 100. Every guest is invited to participate in the conservation programme with the island's resident environmentalists.
The island became famous worldwide after Prince William and Catherine Middleton chose it for their honeymoon in 2011. The rate is entirely all-inclusive — all meals, all beverages (with a small premium wines caveat), all activities including scuba diving, kayaking, cycling, sunset cruises, guided walks, and fishing, plus your own private Island Buggy for the duration of the stay. Each villa includes a dedicated villa host. Destination dining across the island's four private beaches, the Sunset Bar on Grande Anse, and the Piazza Restaurant complete the offering.
The Beachfront Villas (Villas 1 to 10) each cover 450 square metres and are nestled in the tree-line along East Beach, ensuring complete privacy from neighbouring villas while maintaining direct ocean views and beach access. Each villa features a handcrafted master bedroom, a separate study that converts to a second bedroom, an open bathroom with sunken bathtub and three outdoor showers, a private plunge pool, an outdoor sala with sun loungers, an outdoor dining area and BBQ, and a fully stocked kitchen pantry with blackboard menu for in-villa dining.
Villa North (Villa 11) at 750 square metres is the island's signature villa — nestled beside the granitic incline of Grand Paloss peak with spacious terraces across elevated decks, a secluded sala, a private fire pit, and four outdoor showers. This is the villa where William and Catherine honeymooned. All villas include a dedicated villa host, your own Island Buggy and bicycles, and full access to the 45m rock-integrated infinity pool, La Vie spa on Spa Hill, the PADI Dive Centre, and all island activities.
All meals on North Island are included in the villa rate. The Piazza is the island's main restaurant, serving a menu shaped by Seychellois Creole cooking — local island cuisine, French, and Southern Indian tradition — combined with organic produce from the island's own vegetable and herb garden and the freshest fish and seafood from the surrounding Indian Ocean waters. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served at the Piazza or at the dining venue of the guest's choice.
Destination Dining is one of North Island's most celebrated features. The team sets up private meals in secret coves, on deserted beaches, at bespoke locations across the 201 hectares — Honeymoon Beach picnic, wine cellar dinner, sunset bonfire and champagne at The Cross, candlelit dinner on the sand at the water's edge. The Sunset Bar on Grande Anse provides cocktails with the island's most dramatic Indian Ocean sunset views. In-villa dining uses the stocked pantry and blackboard menu, with private BBQ on the outdoor terrace.
Four nights on North Island — one of the world's most exclusive private islands in the Indian Ocean. 11 villas, 201 hectares, four private beaches, and an entirely all-inclusive stay. The helicopter over the turquoise Seychelles. The baby Green Turtles on East Beach. Brutus the 200-year-old tortoise. Destination dining on the sand at sunset.

North Island is not a resort with an island theme. It is an island that was rehabilitated, and then opened as a resort. The villas were built from Takamaka and Rosewood reclaimed during the rehabilitation. The conservation team was there before the first guest. William and Catherine came here for their honeymoon. Brutus the tortoise is 200 years old. The Green Turtles nest on East Beach every season. The helicopter takes 15 minutes from Mahé. There are 11 villas and 201 hectares. Everything is included.
