Oracabessa Bay, St Mary, Jamaica - Royal Master Suite - Private Beach - Caribbean Heritage
The Fleming Villa at GoldenEye is the most storied private villa in the Caribbean - the original compound designed by Ian Fleming on the cliff above Oracabessa Bay in 1946, where he wrote all 14 James Bond novels from Casino Royale in 1952 to the posthumous publication of The Man with the Golden Gun. Fleming designed the house himself without architectural experience, deciding there would be no windows - only the customary Jamaican jalousie blinds to let in the air and the Caribbean sun. The breezes at GoldenEye remain a delight, all hours of the day, all times of the year.
The Fleming Villa comprises the original three-bedroom main house and two standalone guest cottages - Sweet Spot and Pool House - sleeping up to 10 guests in complete privacy on their own parcel of land within the GoldenEye resort estate. The Royal Master Suite occupies the original James Bond writing room with Ian Fleming's desk at which the 007 novels were created, the four-poster king bamboo bed, and the foldout window shutters that open directly to the Caribbean Sea. The dedicated villa staff includes a personal butler, housekeeper, and cook who prepares local Jamaican specialties.
The Fleming Villa provides simultaneous access to the complete GoldenEye resort experience - the FieldSpa at GoldenEye, the Bizot Bar and Gazebo Restaurant, the water sports beach with glass-bottom kayaks and snorkeling gear, the resort's two private beaches, and all activities at what Conde Nast Traveller described as a place that condenses the sheer joy of island living more successfully than any other hotel in Jamaica.
The Royal Master Suite is the most historically significant hotel room in the Caribbean - the original bedroom of Ian Fleming's GoldenEye house, where the 007 novels were created at Fleming's writing desk between 1952 and 1964. The suite features the iconic four-poster king bamboo bed, Fleming's original writing desk at which Casino Royale, Live and Let Die, and Dr. No were written, foldout window shutters that open directly to the Caribbean Sea, and the signature GoldenEye claw foot tub in the large tropical garden bathroom with outdoor shower.
The Fleming Villa private compound includes a private pool for exclusive villa use, a private beach with sun loungers and the Caribbean Sea directly accessible, and the tropical gardens that Fleming himself planted and maintained during his twelve Jamaican winters. The cook prepares local Jamaican specialties for all meals, the butler attends to every requirement, and the LVH Global field manager ensures the seamless operation of the estate throughout the stay.
The Fleming Villa cook prepares private meals for the villa guests throughout the stay - local Jamaican specialties using the freshest ingredients of the Oracabessa Bay area, from the jerk seasoning and ackee and saltfish of the Jamaican culinary tradition to the fresh fish from the Oracabessa Bay Fish Sanctuary waters immediately below the villa. The alfresco dining table in the tropical gardens, the beach dining setup, and the private villa terrace provide the most atmospheric private dining settings in Jamaica.
The GoldenEye resort restaurants and bars are accessible to Fleming Villa guests throughout the stay - the Bizot Bar at 500 metres from the villa for sunset cocktails above the Caribbean, the Gazebo Restaurant for Jamaican cuisine and international dishes, and the full resort dining programme. The villa also receives the welcome gift of Blackwell Rum and the Jamaican snacks and refreshments traditional to the GoldenEye welcome.
